Thank you for making our visit to paradise so luxurious and comfortable. Your good taste and respect for nature are imprinted in the design and furnishings of the Lone Fir Cottage. I cannot imagine a better way to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary.
I could sit for hours and watch the play of sun and shadow on the trees below the deck.
Nature is so healing and we feel restored.
This cottage has been a great place to stay. When we first stepped in this cottage 2 years ago it was great, but when we stepped in for the second time, the memories hit us like a wave and we all thought, ah, just like home . . .
Using Lone Fir as our “home base” we were able to experience the beauty of California. The sights, sounds and smells of the great hiking trails, and the tranquility of a picnic lunch overlooking the waves at Chimney Rock.
We’ve achieved everything we set out to do on this trip, and were able to retreat back to your beautiful cottage every evening to enjoy wine, hot tub and a rip-roaring game of Scrabble!
It’s hard to believe such peace and quiet exists only 60 minutes from SF—this is exactly how we wanted to end and begin our new year. Thank you for making such a great getaway for people to use.
The hot tub—under the stars—lovely. The cottage—cozy. The beds—very comfortable. The radiant heating in the bathroom—amazingly spoiling. The firewood—great. The kindling—the best crackling sounds ever!
Thank you so much for creating this wonderful retreat . . . the openness of the building brings forth open minds & hearts.
We enjoyed the careful layout of the wood for an easy-to-start fire, the toasty hot tub was steaming hot for the late afternoon relaxation . . . we were happy to stay tucked in during the rain storm feeling safe and dry, mended and renewed overall.
Thank you both for a wonderful stay. Lone Fir is so peaceful, healing and happy . . . We were so tired and all 3 of us feel restored and full of trees and wind and sun and silence.
An ideal retreat—comfy, cozy cottage—great location—loved the beautiful tree views, the serenity, the lovely deck. Beautiful sunny weather for the Pierce Point and Chimney Rock hikes—saw the elephant seals at the lookout west of the historic lifesaving station—wish we had brought binoculars.
